Footnote Modern enamel is formulated specifically for the purpose for which it is used. This means that although the enamel used in an oven interior can be successfully cleaned with an approved oven cleaner, the same product may damage the enamel of a hob top, casserole or bath.
NB: Old cast iron baths were enamelled with less resistant enamels and may already have some surface damage or loss of gloss, they may not withstand modern cleaners, so with an old or damaged bath it is wise to test all products on a small area before applying to the whole bath.
